Steve's First Top Tip

As its my first tip and I am the Head Pro at Dudsbury i thought it apt to share my thoughts on playing in the wind!
When playing in to a strong wind the most common mistake I see the members making is hitting the ball too hard.  Doing this will impart more backspin on the ball and make the ball climb, thus shortening your short and reducing your accuracy.

• Take more club and swing smoother and with less power.
• Put the ball back slightly in the stance to lower the flight.
• When driving, keep the tee normal height and swing smooth as a lower tee encourages a steeper downswing that imparts more backswing.
• Remember, it is just as windy for everyone else! So mistakes will happen but just keep going!
